If we click on that ica file it DOES launch in the receiver for chrome app perfectly and works as expected.
Hi! Im facing the issue that the Citrix Desktop App for Windows 10 does not launch the apps. It downloads bltadwin.ru file but it is not started. It is also not possible to start it manually. I tried the following steps: remove the Citrix Desktop App, restart the system, re-install the latest versio. It will also not allow the ICA files to open. Solution: To fix this, just go to the folder where the ICA file has been downloaded. Right-click on the file bltadwin.ru extension and select open with. Select Citrix Connection Manager from the list and select Always use this option. Now try to open the ICA file, it should work now. My employer has a Citrix ica icon available, which launches a remote desktop client within Citrix. The ica used to download (1 week ago), but now it is not. What would possibly cause the ica file not to download? I'm using the same machine that I know worked before. update: Okay, after uninstalling Citrix, and re-installing, I get this.
Same issue here. Using a mac with updated OS. Used to work just fine, and bltadwin.ru files launch within a new browser tab within chrome, rather than triggering the Citrix app to launch. Can't find anything within settings or downloads that seems to fix this issue; in fact, can't even get chrome to download the file if I wanted to. Chrome will prompt a dialog box to save the '".ica" file Hit save to save it in the "Downloads folder" On the bottom left you will see the file, click the "^" which is the drop-down list for the file in the download bar and select "Always Open Files of This Type". By default, Citrix Receiver is supposed to automatically delete the temporary ICA settings files downloaded by Chrome. It fails to do that, so instead they accumulate in the user's Downloads folder for Chrome. Once of these temporary ICA files accumulate, it's no longer possible to launch Citrix applications. As a workaround to this bug, follow these steps: Open Google Chrome; In the top right corner of the Chrome window, click on the "pancake stack" settings icon.
